Ras Abu Fontas Complex

Qatar Electricty and Water Company (QEWC) is one of the largest power and water producers in the state of Qatar. The goverment owned entity is the sole owner of the Ras Abu Fontas (RAF) complex as well as other power and water facilities plus holding shareholding in other IPPs and IWPPs. 

The RAF complex of power generation and water deslination plants is wholly-owned by QWEWC and is its largest facility. The plant is located 17km Southeast of Doha, around 30 minutes drive from the capital.

Tour Outline

The technical power and water plant tour includes 

  • viewing some of the principle power and water units
  • presentations by plant management about the overall facility and information about the various technologies employed
  • refreshments
  • return transportation by coach to the plant location from Qatar National Convention Centre.
